Jade Beauty

A green when ripe tomato, some may develop a pink blush on the bottom when ripe, but it will help to lightly squeeze to see if it gives to be sure it is ripe. Flesh is a bright green. Fruit are usually 3-5 oz in size and smooth with a sweet but very tangy flavor. Makes a great green salsa. Plants grow to be about 4 feet tall and are very productive so will need staking to support the weight of the fruit.

Developed in the 2006-2011 by the members of the Dwarf Tomato Project from a cross between Golden Dwarf Champion with Green Giant made in 2006 by Patrina Nuske Small in Australia, and named Sneezy.

The variety was selected and named by Craig LeHoullier after the gemstone Jade, which exhibits coloring similar to the tomato. Others tomato growers involved in its development are Lisa Moore, Richard Watson (New Zealand), Howard Kushner, and Bill Minkey (Wisconsin).
