Riesentraube

A wonderful old heirloom that has incredible yields of tasty little globes with points on the ends. Productive is an understatement, as the plant produces hundreds of flowers that turn into large clusters of fruit that continue right up through beginning frosts. Flavor is more like a full size beefsteak tomato than just the sweet taste of most cherries. Great fresh or dried.

Story:

A wonderful old German heirloom, it was grown by the Pennsylvania Dutch and offered in Philadelphia as early as the 1850’s. The name fittingly translates to “Giant Bunches of Grapes”. Introduced commercially in the U.S. in 1994 by Southern Exposure Seed Exchange.
